Salute to School: From NMIMS, Mumbai

The recently announced Board results have given students and educators all across the country a reason to smile. We too would like to join in on the celebration and congratulate all our educators who have made this possible. It is because of their guidance that students are able to perform well and chart out successful careers for themselves and lead fruitful lives.

A school acts like a second home for all its students and as such deserves a special mention. Principal, Teachers, Students, Counsellors and the Support Staff form the 5 pillars of a school. These individual entities work synergistically towards the school’s success. A principal leads, a teacher facilitates, a student learns, a counsellor guides and a support staff member works behind the scenes to make this all happen. It is through the meaningful integration of all these individuals that a school is created and its identity extends beyond its physical space. All of these act as catalysts of transformation; turning a school into a learning community.

When a learning community exists in a school through globally aware educators and active support functions, a student feels at home. Our concluding part of the ‘Salute To School’ Series this week features an alumnus of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar who expresses her gratitude for her school and all her teachers who played a crucial part in shaping her future.

Just like the schools featured in our “Salute to School” series, we believe that every school can uncover the power in its students’ future by becoming globally aware and incorporating practices like the continuous professional development of teachers.
